How to check the exact time
- Open the page. It checks the time against an internet time server in about a second, then shows the exact time with seconds.
- Read the line under the clock: it says whether your device's clock is right, or how many seconds fast or slow it is.
- Switch between 24-hour and 12-hour time, show tenths of a second, or press Full screen for a big clock. Copy the UTC or Unix time if you need it.
When the exact time matters
- Online sales and ticket drops open at an exact second. Knowing whether your clock is a few seconds slow can make the difference.
- Exams, auctions and deadlines that close at a set time.
- Setting a watch or wall clock: tick on tenths of a second and match the second as it changes.
- Checking a device after travel or a battery change, when its clock is most likely to be off.
For a big clock to leave on screen, use the full screen clock. For the time in other cities, use the world clock.
