How to make bold text
- Type or paste your text into Input.
- Pick serif or sans-serif bold, upright or italic. The bold version appears in Result as you type.
- Click Copy and paste it into your post, bio or comment.
Serif bold or sans-serif bold?
Serif bold, 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝, looks like bold Times. Most apps show text in a sans-serif font, and there sans-serif bold, 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱, blends in better with the surrounding words. Both are here, upright or italic. For bold script and every other style side by side, use the fancy text generator.
Where bold Unicode helps, and where it doesn’t
- LinkedIn posts: a bold first line or bold section labels make a long post easier to scan.
- Instagram and TikTok bios: a bold name or a bold line like 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 stands out.
- X display names and most posts: there is no formatting, so this is the way to get bold.
Skip it where real formatting exists. Discord and Reddit use **bold**, while WhatsApp and Slack use *bold*. Native bold is read normally by screen readers and still shows up in search.
